About Kap's Retro Rescue
It started with one broken console I couldn't throw away. Cracked shell, dead screen, a lot of late nights — and then it worked again. Then a friend asked me to fix theirs. Then a friend of a friend. Somewhere in there, tinkering turned into a skill people were willing to pay for.
Today I repair, restore, and mod handheld and classic consoles — Game Boys, the DS family, and beyond — for people who want their childhood systems running like new (or better, if you're into IPS screens and USB-C charging). Every console gets tested piece by piece before it ships back. “Probably fine” isn't good enough when it's someone's actual memories on the line.
I run this alongside a full-time job and a new baby, so I'm upfront about where things stand rather than overpromising. You'll get real updates at every step, and I'd rather take the time to do it right than rush something I'm not proud of. Every repair comes with a 30-day warranty — I stand behind the work.
Got a console gathering dust in a drawer? Let's bring it back.
